I build accessible interfaces for high-stakes work.

Frontend engineer focused on performance, accessibility, and interfaces that hold up under real use. Currently building the claims status tool on VA.gov at Coa Solutions.

Form 21A accreditation, digitized

Coa Solutions · VA.gov

Becoming a VA-accredited representative ran through a paper Form 21A and a growing application backlog, slowing how quickly qualified people could start helping Veterans with their claims.

As frontend project lead, I digitized Form 21A in React and the VA Design System, building an interface that screens for qualified candidates and holds up to the program's legal requirements. I also helped build a representative-facing portal that widens access to VA.gov, working across React and Ruby on Rails.

E-commerce performance & security platform

Webscale Networks

E-commerce teams needed prescriptive analytics, performance tuning, and edge security surfaced in an interface they could act on.

I partnered with stakeholders, authored requirements, and translated designs into frontend implementations with TypeScript and Svelte, building data-dense product UI that stayed legible under load.

How I work

Accessibility is the baseline.

On VA.gov, accessibility is a legal requirement and a moral one. The people using it are often older, sometimes on assistive tech, and frequently doing something that affects their income. So I design for it from the first component: semantic markup, full keyboard paths, correct screen-reader semantics, and sufficient color contrast. This whole site is built the same way, so try tabbing through it.

About

From wine to software.

Before I wrote software, I was a certified sommelier, buying and managing a wine shop in Boulder. Wine taught me what I value most as an engineer: that skill is mostly disciplined attention to fundamentals. Structure, balance, and understanding why something works before adding complexity.

I studied World Literature, retrained at the Turing School, and have been building for the web ever since: first on a high-traffic e-commerce platform at Webscale, now on public-service software at Coa Solutions. I build interfaces that are fast, legible, accessible, and that behave the way people expect.

I'm open to senior frontend roles. If you're building something that has to work for everyone, get in touch.
